Shaping Tomorrow’s Learners, Today
Hello, I'm Charlotte Kelly, an Early Years Lead from Manchester and the person behind EYFS Wonder. I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2018 and, for the past eight years, I have had the privilege of working across both Nursery and Reception, developing a deep passion for Early Years education and the incredible impact these first experiences can have on a child's future.
I currently teach in Nursery alongside my roles as Early Years Lead and Early Writing Lead, and I am also beginning a new role as an Early Language Specialist, working alongside a local hub to support schools across Trafford and Cheshire. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to share my practice at national conferences, contribute to the Early Excellence Podcast, and welcome schools into our setting to share our approach, pedagogy and journey. You can listen to my Early Excellence Podcast episode, Curriculum Development in the EYFS, here.
I am passionate about giving every child the best possible start in life and believe that our Early Years practice should be thoughtful, purposeful and informed by research. I am particularly passionate about the power of Early Language, including the quality of adult interactions, rich conversations, vocabulary development and the use of inclusive, high-quality texts that enable every child to see themselves and their experiences reflected in what they learn.
Alongside language and literacy, I have a real passion for creating safe, purposeful and inspiring environments where children feel confident to explore, investigate, communicate and learn. I believe that carefully selected resources, thoughtfully organised spaces and intentional enhancements can make a significant difference to children's experiences and progress. The environment should not simply look beautiful; it should have a clear purpose, invite curiosity and support all children to become increasingly independent learners.
EYFS Wonder has grown from my passion for sharing the ideas, resources and approaches that I find meaningful in my own practice. My hope is that this space provides Early Years practitioners with practical inspiration, thoughtful resources and research-informed ideas that can be taken straight into their own settings.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit EYFS Wonder. I hope you find something here that inspires you, supports your practice and, most importantly, helps you create wonderful experiences for the children you work with. 🤍
